Here is the weekly update for the WIS 22 roadway project in Gillett. If you know of anyone else who would like to receive these updates, please let me know and I will add them to the list.
This Week (June 1 to June 5): Storm Sewer work was completed between East Railroad Street and West Park Street. Grading operations continued. The contractor excavated the existing roadbed and placed new road base between East Main Street and Elm Avenue.
Next Week (June 8 to June 12): Storm sewer work will begin in the East Washington Street intersection. The pipe crew will then move to the south toward West Park Street, installing underground pipe and drainage structures. The grading crew will remove existing pavement between Elm Avenue and Finnegan Lake Road. Once existing pavement is fully removed, they will continue roadway excavation and placement of new road base.
Traffic impacts: WIS 22 will be closed to thru traffic for the duration of the project. During storm sewer work, local traffic may not be able to pass through the area the contractor is working in. In the areas the grading crew is performing roadway excavation, local traffic will not be able to pass through, and driveways will be temporarily inaccessible. The contractor is notifying property owners of driveway accessibility each day.
Detour: WIS 22 will remain closed and detoured. The project detour route continues to use County H and County R.
