Here is the weekly update for the WIS 22 roadway project in Gillett. If you know of anyone else who would like to receive these updates, please let me know and I will add them to the list.
This Week (July 13 to July 17):Roadway grading and placement of new road base was completed between West Pine Street and WIS 32. The contractor prepped the Christie Brook box culvert for extension work on the west side of the roadway. Concrete crews completed pouring curb & gutter between Finnegan Lake Road and East Main Street. Concrete work began in the intersections between Finnegan Lake Road and East Main Street. Sidewalk crews began pouring new concrete sidewalk and driveways on the north side of WIS 22 between Harding Avenue and East Main Street.
Next Week (July 20 to July 24):The contractor will begin forming and pouring new west side extensions at the Christie Brook box culvert. Concrete crews will complete pouring pavement in intersections between Finnegan Lake Road and East Main Street. The contractor will continue pouring sidewalks and driveways on the north side of WIS 22 between Harding Avenue and East Main Street.
Traffic Impacts:WIS 22 will be closed to thru traffic for the duration of the project.
In the areas the grading crew is performing roadway excavation, local traffic will not be able to pass through, and driveways will be temporarily inaccessible. The contractor is notifying property owners of driveway accessibility each day.
Both lanes of WIS 22 between Finnegan Lake Road and East Main Street are temporarily inaccessible due to concrete paving operations. Intersections between North Harding Avenue and East Main Street are closed and driveways on both sides of the road are inaccessible. The contractor has provided written notices to property owners with information regarding driveway accessibility and time frames.
Detour: WIS 22 will remain closed and detoured. Detour route directs WIS 22 traffic to use County H and County R.
