Hi Everyone,

 

Here is the weekly update for the WIS 22 roadway project in Gillett. If you know of anyone else who would like to receive these updates, please let me know and I will add them to the list.

 

This Week (August 3 to August 7): The contractor completed pouring concrete for the new west side extension at the Christie Brook box culvert. Crews completed pouring new concrete sidewalks and driveways between Gillett High School and East Main Street on the south side of WIS 22. Landscaping crews continued placing topsoil, seeding, and installing protective erosion matting between Finnegan Lake Road and East Main Street.

 

Next Week (August 10 to August 14): The contractor will complete backfill and restoration around the Christie Brook box culvert. Paving crews will prepare and begin placement of asphaltic pavement at the south end of the project and at side roads between Finnegan Lake Road and South McKenzie Avenue. The concrete paving contractor will begin preparing the northern half of the project for paving operations between East Main Street and WIS 32.

 

Traffic Impacts: WIS 22 will be closed to thru traffic for the duration of the project.

  • Both lanes of WIS 22 between Finnegan Lake Road and East Main Street are now accessible to local traffic. Intersections between Finnegan Lake Road and East Main Street remain closed for concrete pavement placement. The following intersections are now open: Finnegan Lake Road, Elm Avenue, Birch Avenue, Garden Avenue and East Main Street.

    • All driveways on the north side of WIS 22 between Finnegan Lake Road and East Main Street will be accessible by the end of this week.

    • Several driveways on the south side of WIS 22 between Gillett High School and East Main Street are open. Several remain closed for concrete operations.

 

Detour: WIS 22 will remain closed and detoured. Detour route directs WIS 22 traffic to use County H and County R.
