    Clock Church Community Christmas Cantata

    A community tradition at St. John’s Clock Church is the community Cantatas for Christmas and Easter!

    The Christmas Cantata dates for 2024:

    Put on annually on the first Saturday of the December by the Lion’s Club!

    Come join the fun in the community at Christmas in the Park!

    Come to St. John’s Clock Church and visit the halls full of craft vendors and other artisan booths from all over the community.

    Stop by the 4H exhibit hall in Zippel Park to see Santa Claus, games, and more fun!

    Saturday, December 7 from 10am – 2:30 pm at St. John’s Clock Church and 11 am – 4:30 pm at the Expo Hall!

    Gillett Area Ambulance Squad Annual

    An annual tradition since 2020 to bring cheer to the community!

    On December 14 at 3:30 pm join us at the Gillett Area Ambulance Garage for community Christmas Caroling.

    The group will leave on a trailer with hot cocoa and warm cheer to travel around the City of Gillett stopping to sing Christmas Carols in from of various homes! It is a great annual tradition!

    Chilly mornings, school is back in session….it can only mean one thing: Fall is coming up fast. This fall, we will have two special drives: one will collect new and gently used baby, toddlers, and kids Halloween Costumes and the other will be for Holiday outfits for babies, toddlers, and kids. These costumes and outfits will be free for anyone who needs them.
    We are doing the Mitten Tree this year to help needy Gillett families. We will be collecting unwrapped presents for people of all ages and give them to We Believe in Gillett.  All presents will stay local. Even something small can bring a smile to someone in need

    Halloween Costume Swap

    Do you need a new Halloween Costume without breaking the bank?
    Drop off your gently used and clean children’s costumes at the Gillett Public Library starting September 17th. Pick out a new costume during the month of October.

    Safe Kids Oconto County

    The Oconto County Department of  Public Health will be at the Gillett Public Library on Tuesday, September 17th from 5-6 pm to ensure your child’s carseat is installed properly in your car and ensure it will keep your child safe. Please bring your child, the seat they currently use, and your vehicle. No appointment is needed and car seats will be available onsite for those in need.  For any questions, call 920-834-7000

    Seed Mosaic Craft

    Come to the Library on Wednesday, September 18th from 4-5 pm to make a seed mosaic craft. We’ll make a mosaic using clay and seeds. Take home your craft and let it sit for 3-4 days. If you wish to preserve it, spray it with acrylic sealer.

    Wisconsin Science Festival 2024

    Are you ready for Wisconsin Science Festival in October? Come to the Gillett Public Library for free science kits! This year’s activities focus on Agriculture!  and will illustrate the interconnectedness of agriculture within our state’s economy, society, well-being, and the overall future of humanity through science, art, and technology. Don’t miss out! These kits are always a hit! We will announce on social media and in the library when the kits will be available for pickup!

    Holiday Outfit Swap

    Does your child need a new outfit for upcoming Holiday parties? Drop off gently used and clean kids’ Holiday Formal outfits at the Gillett Public Library from November 1st to the 15th during library hours. Pick a new outfit from Monday, November 18th-25th during library hours.

    Pathfinder Society Organized Play

    Join us for Pathfinder Society Organized Play on Wednesdays from 1:30-3 pm in the Library Community Center. Every week a new adventure awaits in the fictional world of Golarion. Explore the world and delve into ancient ruins. So grab your Wayfinder, arm yourself with spell or sword, and explore this fantastical world in traditional tabletop RPG style. 

    Gillett Gaming Guild

    Join us for a Community Board Games in the Gillett Library Community Center on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30-3 pm.. Board games will be provided or feel free to gather a group of friends and bring your own games. Card players welcome! 

    Gillett Area Community Market

    Come to our weekly Community Market  every Thursday from 5-7 pm from September 5th to October 24th at the Ebenreiter Square (located between the Gillett Public Library and the Library Community Center)

    In November, the market will take place inside the Community Center on Thursday, November 14th only.
    In December, the market will take place on Thursday, December 12th only. December 12 will be a special Holiday Shopping Experience. 

    Every market will feature local vendors and crafters. Come to the market for raffles in November and December to win special prizes!

    Oconto County Outreach Help for Job Seekers/GED Assistance

    Are you looking for work or need help getting your GED? Oconto County Health and Human Services personnel will be at Gillett Public Library on the fourth Thursday of every month from 10 am-12 pm. 

    Sew-cial Club

    Bring your needlepoint project and sew with us at Gillett Library! We’ll meet on the second and fourth Thursday of every month from 12-2 pm.

    Machickanee Players Present

    Edgar Allan Poe Art & Poetry Contest

    Join our contest sponsored my Machickanee Players. Anyone is welcome to participate. Write a poem about Edgar Allan Poe. The contest will run through October. Check out our website and Facebook page for more information!

    Mitten Tree

    Last year, the Gillett Public Library had mittens on a tree to help a family in need buy presents for their kids for the holidays. This year we will do it again to support We Believe in Gillett.
    Please bring unwrapped presents to the Gillett Public Library through the month of November. Presents can be for any age group. The deadline for dropoff is Thursday, December 5th at noon. All presents will be given to local families in need.

    The Gillett Public Library will be closed on the following days:

    Spring Community Market

    Are you looking for something special for mom on Mother’s Day? Gillett Public Library will host the first Spring Community Market at the Gillett Library Community Center, 204 E. Main Street, on Friday, April 26th from 5-7 pm.  There will be a variety of local vendors selling their homemade products including bread, home décor, jewelry, and much more.  With so many unique items to choose from, why not pick something up for yourself?
